The thing about everything being new is that you almost can’t rely on any of your past experiences to help you through any challenges or difficulties. All at once you're completely dependent on God, and His grace and faithfulness, which He supplies abundantly to those who trust Him for it. Trust is what we did. First by getting out of the car. Second introducing ourselves. Third… by playing soccer.

The final day has now arrived. There is a sense of urgency in the air as I realize these are the final hours that I will have to spend with the team that I have come to appreciate and love very much. We were going to be sprinting to the finish tonight because we have our final evening at the family conference...

Three nights of working, two kinds of ministry, and One amazing God! The evening began with getting dropped off in a downtown kind of area. The location was basically a park surrounded by stores and restaurants. We were told that a lot of people who hung out in this park spoke English. Grabbing a handful of tracts and a couple of team members we dispersed into our battle field!

Here’s a snapshot of our day on Tuesday, July 7th....We had so much fun with the kids at the Saco Oliveros school last week that we were glad to be able to meet them again. This time we gathered at a sports field where we took on the intimidating Peruvians at their favorite sport - futbol...

We took pictures in front of the Peruvian president´s home. It is right in the middle of down town and seemed much larger than the White House. We then walked to a Franciscan Monastery which was completed in 1774 (according to Wikipedia =). We took a tour and saw some very interesting works of art. One of the paintings was of the Last Supper only instead of just bread and wine Jesus and the twelve were also eating traditional Peruvian foods. The highlight of the tour was the catacombs! Over 25,000 people were buried there before Lima had a cemetery out side the city.

It's Wednesday, July 1st and we have reached the mid-point of our trip. We are caught in between two seas of events. There are those events that have already come, and those that are to come. As I look back, I see...

This morning started like any other Global Encounters day… we had to get up earlier than we wanted! But we all got over it pretty quickly, and we started our first full day in Lima. We all attended Pastor Nelson’s church, which is within walking distance of our hotel. The team got up and introduced themselves in Spanish. Most of the team is getting very good at this by now!

For most of us, Saturday started at midnight. We had only a few short hours to pack, hang out, and say goodbye to our beloved Pucallpa before leaving for Lima around five in the morning. We had a relatively uneventful day, during which time we pranced through the airport in funny hats, marched through Lima in funny hats, performed a silly skit in funny hats, slept (!), and...
