The Advance Troops Arrive!
Well, OK, one advance corp member arrived. Steven flew ahead of the team to help with trans and prep. Here's his account of the day...On the heels of the Peru mission trip, I am at it again! Lots of hours spent on airplanes today. I made it to San Cristobal without any real problems. I had a delay at the airport in Mexico City for a couple of extra hours but I was just happy to make it to the airport in Tuxtla. My main concern of the day was that my two suitcases (weighing in over 105lb together) would just stay together and not burst their innards all over some obscure part of any of the three airports through which they traveled. I was carrying some car parts for one of the trucks that will be transporting us and they added a bit of weight. Regardless, the suitcases did stay together and everything seems to have made it here okay.Upon arrival in Tuxtla, Nathan Terrell (the missionary we will be working along side these two weeks) picked me up. We had to go pick up one of the trucks so I got to cut my teeth on some real driving in a foreign country. A little different than I am used to but much more exciting (not to worry folks I still drive safely). Had to drive the truck for about 1 1/2 hrs. most of it through the mountains. Fun! Fun! Well it's like almost 1:15am here and I've almost been up for 24 hours. I am going to bed so I can have a little sleep before we pack up all the supplies later this morning. Keep us in your prayers! The rest of the team flies down here tomorrow!Steven Curry
A very tired Steven!
