We're Here!
We are here! "Here" is 7,000 feet above sea level in the mountains of southern Mexico, in the town of San Cristobal, Chiapas, at the large home of the wonderful Terrell family. "We" are the Global Encounters Chiapas 2010 jungle team, and we are ready for three weeks of discovering what God has for us down here.Running off 3.5 hours of sleep does not leave me with very many words - and the ones that are left are probably a bit scrambled - but I do have a handful of pictures to tell the story. (3.5 hours is apparently nothing special; Amy Cook, fresh in from Ecuador, takes the gold medal at 1 hour; David Carnley is runner-up at 2 hours. We are going to relish the day of rest tomorrow.)Christopher, for the Chiapas teamHere's three of the spiffy ERJ-145 jets, the type we took from Houston to Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas (TUX):Tickets and passports at the ready, IAH Gate B71:
