A Day in the Life of an Orphanage

Tuesday, August 11Tuesday included a few challenges. Elizabeth seems to have a case of food poisoning and the supply box got run over by the truck. In spite of this, the Lord showed Himself strong. Lessons were still taught and learned, lives were still touched, and the team still continued to draw closer to the Lord (and surprisingly, most of the supplies are still OK).101_0416We spent the day at an orphanage. We did one full program with the kids and part of another and we spent a good deal of time interacting with the kids. Most of the children have very sad backgrounds. One was found drunk on the streets, another was born in prison, and another witnessed his own father murder his mother. It was such a blessing to see how the Lord has used the families that work at the orphanage to show His love to those precious children and how these children have been blessed and changed by their ministry.Shaylene, for Team Chiapas101_0412Listening to Daniel tell the crayon chewing story101_0413Making crafts101_0426Gabi playing with the kids out on the trampoline101_0438Katie having fun outside with the kiddos101_0422The streets of San Cristobal
