Why? || Meagan - July 21
Today part of our team visited an orphanage that houses HIV positive children. The conditions there were heartbreaking. The children were sick, dirty, left unattended, and worst of all, knew nothing about Jesus. Their whole world screams that they are unloved, unwanted, and uncared for. It seemed so insignificant what we could give them in our short visit with these children. I pray that through the games, crafts, stories, and hugs we shared with them, we were able to show them that they are loved, wanted, and cared for by us, and by their Heavenly Father. When coming face to face with something so heartbreaking, so wrong, it’s easy to become angry at the injustice of the situation and ask the question “why?” Our team is finding solace in knowing that God cares for these children more than we ever could. That when our hearts our breaking, His is breaking too. That He has a master plan that weaves even the darkest threads into His redemptive story. That even this is working for His glory.- Meagan W.
