Surrender || Morgan – July 15

The third day in Ecuador was all about surrender and there was a lesson in store for more than just the kids in Quito and Carapungo. God gently nudged me into remembering that He's in control of things--and I, most certainly, am not--with a nice little monkey wrench into our lesson plans. My craft team ran out of socks for the sock-puppet craft in the middle of our second-to-last group in Carapungo. Anyone who knows me well can probably imagine the stress bomb that went off in my head.Obviously something had to be done and short of asking the kids to take off their own socks, we had to come up with a lesson for our last group of kids.Liz told me the 'story of the three chairs' and I rolled with it. Despite my complete and utter anxiety, I think God was able to use that time in a way I never would have guessed for these kids.And, He taught me a nice little lesson at the same time. I had gotten so confident in my lessons that day and forgotten that it was not me teaching these kids, it's always God. I'm simply His vessel.I will remember that before every lesson, now. And I will also take extra socks for sock puppets every time...Oh! And we ran out of socks because we had more children than we thought we would...what a blessing!- MorganIMG_7776IMG_7853IMG_7878IMG_7880IMG_7893IMG_7903IMG_7936IMG_7965
