[07.30 - Tuesday] Extreme Makeover in Progress

Tuesday morning was the beginning of our painting expedition. We woke up early, broke up into two groups, and began our jobs for the week. One half of the team worked on sanding and painting desks for the orphanage (to use in their new schoolhouse), while the other half worked on painting the kitchen/dining room/computer area for the Terrells. Personally I was on kitchen duty, and we began the task of repainting the walls from yellow, blue, and white to khaki and chocolate brown. We quickly worked into a steady groove with some people doing detail work while others covered the larger areas. We worked throughout the whole day and completed the first coats. By bedtime we were not only physically exhausted but also sufficiently covered in brown and khaki paint. This week has been at a completely different pace compared to what our team has been used to by living in the jungle. Though the work and environment may be different, it hasn’t deferred the lessons the Lord has had for me daily. Conversations with team members and translators have been wholly beneficial at understanding and knowing God in alternate ways, and I have become more aware of the fact that everyone’s relationship with the Lord is personal, intimate, and different. It’s been a huge blessing to see how the Lord uses each person and their given gifts to glorify His will and name. Our team has become a family and I will be terribly sad when it’s time to go home.- Chelsiaphoto (3)photo (1)photo (5)photophoto76progressbluephoto (2)
