[07.27 - Saturday] Last Day in Ch'ol

Punto Bravo Segundo (Ch'ol Jungle)Juxtaposed with Tojolobal's piney freshness is Ch'ol's classic tropical steaminess. Waking up in in a jungle hut for the final time was bittersweet. We have grown fond of the dense vegetation, mountainside corn fields, continual haze, and necessary slower pace of life. Ch'ol hospitality is second to none; they clear the house, sleep up the road, and daily serve their finest -- chicken soup and horchata. It is humbling to receive more than we give. The final children's program here in Punto Bravo Segundo was rather uneventful, but we pray that seeds planted in the hearts of the 30 children will soon be nurtured.Serveral water filters were installed. The constant clinic emphasis on hydration dovetails with filter installation. It sounds simple, but meets great needs and opens doors to share of the Living Water.By the time we wrapped up clinic today, nearly 800 patients had been seen in total for the trip. Each village has its unique commonalities. Today was sobering as several had genetic conditions that cannot be maximally treated here. This evening we drove to Agua Azul so that tomorrow can be a day of rest and refreshment.Itś been a privilege to serve in the uttermost parts of the earth. We pray that the aroma left behind helps broaden Terrells' continued work. This coming week our focus will shift to Judea, ministering to those who faithfully serve on the front lines before we return to our Jerusalems.Thank you for your continued prayers and support.-Elizabeth C.IMG_7003IMG_6996IMG_6992IMG_7008IMG_6994IMG_7017IMG_7019IMG_7015IMG_7021IMG_7027IMG_7051IMG_7035IMG_7061
