[07.18 - Thursday] Planting and Watering

Nuevo Mexico, Santa Rita (Tojolobal Jungle)It's lush. It's vast. It's breathtaking.Tojolobal must be the scenic counterpart to border Mexico's lack thereof. Yet here in a jungle paradise are dying souls in need of Life Himself. We count it a privilege to have been chosen today to share in God's work in Santa Rita.We left base camp, Nuevo Mexico, to drive to Santa Rita and start clinic at 8:00 a.m. In addition to the usual dehydration, arthritis, and parasites, we've seen kids with crippled feet, an infected cow bite, and possible oral cancer. The total number of patients has now surpassed 500. Opportunities to share of the Great Physician are abundant. Two children's programs were also conducted with 115 tender souls. It was one of the more enthusiastic groups yet encountered, which was refreshing.A stove and a handful of water filters were also installed or repaired, giving opportunity for more informal witnessing. The day concluded with another showing of the Jesus film in Tojolobal. We returned home close to 9:00 p.m. to prepare for the morning, which will again come early. We sense that seeds are being planted and watered as spiritual warfare surfaces. This heightens our gratitude of the privilege of participating in God's work here. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.- Elizabeth C.IMG_6247IMG_6255IMG_6260IMG_6265IMG_6268IMG_6288IMG_6293IMG_6298IMG_6303IMG_6315IMG_6321IMG_6331IMG_6334IMG_6345IMG_6355IMG_6358
