Me in 12 Words or Less: Love people, music, and animals. Torn between love being home and traveling.
ABOUT KATY:
I grew up in the countryside of Mongolia for fourteen years with my family and absolutely loved it. (Geography quiz: Anyone know where that is?) Mongolia is known for their hospitality and nomadic culture.
You will likely see me hanging out with friends, playing the piano, playing games, or petting any animal within sight… not usually all at the same time.
KATY’S PERSPECTIVE ON INTERNATIONAL MINISTRY
The call to share the gospel can happen anywhere you are, whether on a plane ride for vacation or signing up for a short-term missions trip. People will see your true heart motive by how you make them feel. Do you truly care about them having a relationship with the Lord or are they just a “check mark in your day”?
I have done short-term mission trips to Thailand and Zimbabwe with Global Encounters, and have gone back to Mongolia two summers on my own to do ministry in my “home” country since our family moved back to the States. Each experience has stretched and grown my relationship and dependance on the Lord.
