EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Elizabeth Fox
Home State: South Carolina
Favorite Destination: It’s a toss-up between Ecuador and Myanmar.
Favorite Starbucks Drink: I’ll usually try the latest new flavor at least once but with half the normal sweetener.
My desk always looks like . . . Wherever I and my laptop happen to be at the moment. I have a desk… I just don’t sit there very often.
Me in 12 Words or Less: Adventure in Overdrive. Life in a carry-on suitcase.
ABOUT ELIZABETH:
I got started in missions by planning to lead just one mission trip. That was 2003 and instead of ending there, I fell in love with missions and changed jobs. I am currently the executive director of Global Encounters. So far I’ve led mission teams in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Guatemala, Romania, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, and several countries in Southeast Asia. My favorite activity on any mission trip is leading a camp. I love having a relaxed time with the kids to teach them, play games together, have fun, build relationships, and lead them to Christ.
My ministry experience before the missions adventures began included children’s ministry since 1993 and family and teen ministry since 2000. At home, I enjoy interior decorating, coffee, volleyball, Thai food, and hanging out with my nieces and nephews. If I happen to be in SC on a weekend you will probably find me painting, remodeling, or redecorating something around my house.
WHAT I DO:
I primarily oversee international relations and logistics, as well as managing general operations:
Communication with international hosts
Mission team schedules
Scouting new destinations
Emergency on-call for teams
Team leader training
Curriculum development
Donor relations
