A Day of Rest and Challenge || Holden - July 17

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]After a long Sunday of traveling on a bus we final made it to the coast. We planned on resting and playing volleyball the first half of the day, then going to see an orphanage run by the Catholic nuns.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="23213" img_size="large" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There is nothing better then bonding as a team for the glory of God. I could not have asked for a more fun, active and productive team than this. Volleyball turned into more of a game of who can stand in the sand longest before your feet burned. After two long games of fun and competitive volleyball, it was everyone's joy to run into the water to cool off. Bonding as a team is the best thing to do. "Why?" you might ask. Well, you are serving God with your bothers and sisters in Christ and to stay strong as a team you need to be bonded as one.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="23216" img_size="large" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When we arrived at the orphanage you couldn't even get off the bus without having kids hug and tackle you. This was a new experience for me, this being my first mission trip. You can just tell the kids had a need for love and companionship and that's what we were there for. Not all the kids were happy though, you can tell the shy ones just kinda stood off to the side but we were not gonna let one kid be forgotten. Every kid needs a hug or high-five.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="23217" img_size="large" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]It was time to separate into teams and then get a group of kids. The kids didn't really want to hear what we had to say, they just wanted to play the whole time. That was fine though, because we were there to show God's love to those kids. We might not have been able to share from the Bible, but I pray that our love was enough for them to see God in us.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="23212" img_size="large" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Leaving those kids was hard, those kids might think we're just another group of people coming and going but I really pray we changed lives and showed God's love.-Holden[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image="23215" img_size="large" alignment="center"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
