Learning From Children || Stephen - June 21

It is great to be back in Romania and even more amazing to be here to work with children! In these past few days it has been such a blessing to see the team work together and grow in unity not only with each other but also with the children we are spending time with. Getting over the language barrier can be challenging, but I think everyone has really done an amazing job!

Today was the first day that we ran two full programs here in Romania. The first one we did was in a small gypsy village about a 20 minute drive from where we are staying and I have to say, the amount of energy and spirit those children show is absolutely astounding! They all participated in the games and crafts, but when it came to the stories it was a challenge for the team to grab and hold their attention for long enough to get the point across. Overall everyone did an amazing job and had an amazing time!

In the evening, we went back to the town we were yesterday evening and went through another lesson and program there. It was great to get to connect to the children more and get to know them better as we interacted with them! Everything went smoothly and the children responded really well to the teaching and remembered it extremely well!

One of my favorite things about working with children is how much I actually learn from them! They are always more than willing to teach you words and phrases in their language, but there is so much more to learn from them as you get to know them better and spend time with them!
