Renewing Your Mind || Philip – July 28

It is Tuesday here at camp, another day of learning about Jesus and having loads of fun with each of the campers. For our lessons this morning we talked about renewing your mind and on the game team 1 we played four-way-tug-of-war. The kids seemed to really enjoy pulling against other teams as they learned about how there are so many other things competing for the attention of our minds, but we must always fight back against the world while renewing our minds with the Word of God.This morning I woke up without a voice. While it was hard to just rest my voice, I was blessed to work with three awesome teammates who were willing to work together for the common purpose of sharing the love of Christ with these kids.We also began our soccer games on Tuesday, as there was much competition between the different teams. It was amazing to watch these kids compete and to challenge them to be good sports if they were not playing in the game, although there were times when they didn’t want to be.These kids were a blast to work with and I enjoyed every minute of it. Even if going to the beach was extremely nerve racking, waiting for each child to come back to the surface as the waves came crashing in, I will always remember the happiness on their faces as they enjoyed so much that we take for granted each day.- Philip
