South Asia – April 3 || Elyssa

Today (Friday) was our last day of ministry at the orphanage. It was bittersweet because we had such a blast with the kids this week and we were sad to say goodbye to them. The girls on our team were able to spend some quality time bonding with some of the young teens by putting thanaka on each other's faces. Thanaka is a light paste that is used as a sunscreen and bug repellent that keeps your skin nice and cool. The girls also wear it like makeup. The teen girls LOVED putting thanaka on our faces and taking pictures together. It was special to share that time with them.As we prepared to leave the orphanage, the kids sang a farewell song for our team. I was moved to tears by their beautiful voices. Some of the kids asked me if I would be returning to the orphanage next year and I said that I would have to pray and ask the Lord if he wanted me to come back. They smiled and said, "We will start praying now that the Lord will bring you back next year." I definitely would love to go back and hug all those smiling faces!Thank you to all our friends and family who have been praying for our team! The Lord is doing an awesome work in the lives of the kids and the team members. Please continue to pray for us as we minister in a new location each week!ElyssaIMG_0150 IMG_0239
