Ecuador - July 16 || Arielle

Soccer. Soccer. Soccer. I'm sure, that to onlookers, it was just another group of kids playing a game of soccer...or fútbol. To us, it was so much more than just a game. To us, it was a precious time to invest in the lives of these sweet children. To play with them, bond with them, love on them and to let them know that they are important. The crazy part is that we came to proclaim Jesus Christ and to have an impact on lives of these kids, but they are the ones who are having an impact in our lives and on our hearts.

We taught about forgiveness; the importance of forgiveness, and the example that Christ gave us. It is obvious that the Lord is working in the hearts of these children. It is obvious that He is having an impact and that He is changing lives. I am in awe at how He is using our past experiences and testimonies to be able to minister to these kids. He is using the ugly parts of our past to relate to these kids, and He is turning what was once our greatest hindrance into a stepping stone to further His kingdom.
