Romania - June 16 || Plot Twists

This trip has been full of unexpected plot twists. It started out with a one and a half hour delay in Atlanta due to a faulty fuel pump. We are all grateful that the problem was discovered BEFORE the team left Atlanta instead of when they were over the Atlantic Ocean. Thankfully the lost time was recovered and there were no further delays.The next plot twist unfolded in the Budapest airport when I arrived as scheduled expecting to meet the rest of the team thirty minutes later. Three hours later, after watching several flights come in without bringing the expected team members, I was quite relieved to see familiar smiling faces walking towards me.Our time in Budapest was fairly uneventful. We enjoyed a good time of rest, relaxation, and fellowship while strolling the streets of the city. The drive to Deva, however, was packed with adventure and plot twists.Due to the size of our team, we used two vehicles to transport us to our final destination. All was proceeding as planned and on schedule until we arrived at the border. While at the border, we discovered that the van had a problem and was unfit to drive the remainder of the trip. This created a wonderful opportunity for prayer and team bonding as we sat at the gas station waiting for another vehicle. We did arrive safely at our destination, and gladly went to bed.Sunday morning was a good time of worship with the local Romanian believers. Most of us managed to stay awake through the entire 2-3 hour service, in spite of the jet lag and lack of sleep the night before. Sunday evening was full of team training and preparation for our first day of ministry.Today has been a good day of teaching, but not without it’s own plot twists. We did programs in three very different locations: a Christian school, a gypsy village, and a small village church where technical difficulties precipitated even one more plot twist for the day.Through all of the plot twists we have encountered, God has remained faithful. We have seen His Name glorified, been encouraged to cry out to our Father for help, and grown in our love for each other. May His name be praised!Reuben
