Colombia - May 26th || Nasia
Hola, Amigos! Mi llamo Naisa!
No Mom and Dad, that wasn't a typo. Apparently the correct pronunciation of my name in Spanish language is used to scold little children when they have misbehaved, so we've changed it. :) lol It's been fun :)
Today was a great day! But then, every day has been so far! I have loved seeing all these new things! Crazy big buses, graffiti everywhere as it is considered a form of art and free speech, and the awesome mountains surrounding us! It's just so fun to see that mountain pop up behind every building, every bend in the road, and seeing all the houses and homes climb up as high as they can go!
So far, I like this place.
A ball pit, pirates, and very happy chicos are some of the fun things you could of found in this little corner of Colombia today. Who knew that an eyepatch over a working eye could be so irritating? And who knew that little voices would burst with so much laughter when Tommy, played by the fantastic Maxwell, was thrown into the ball pit "jail"? One of my particular favorites from today, was playing with some of the kids through a glass paneled door making silly faces, and Kristin playing tickle monster with them! :) This school was a fun place to be and we were happy to have the opportunity to go and show the love of Jesus to these kids.
The next thing on our schedule for today, was shopping! yay! I didn't even know it'd be so fun Lots of pretty things everywhere! Anyone on the team who could speak enough spanish to ask and understand the price of something was so willing to help those who couldn't. And those who couldn't would be me. haha. Toy Machetes, fútbol jerseys, mugs, and bracelets & key chains galore! I think we all came away quite happy with our Colombian mementos. :)
Walking around Bogota with the team looking for a place to eat dinner was a highlight of my night. Walking and talking and laughing together. Plain old good times. :)
Like I said, today was a great day, just like they all have been in their own different way, and I thank God for each one and for each of my Colombia team members.
Buenos Noches!
