Colombia - May 25th || Kristin
Hola from Bogota!“Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and Godly fear.” Hebrews 12:28It has been a wonderful first few days to the trip! There have already been so many lessons learned on our part, truths of God’s Word taught to others, and many memories made!Today, we had the privilege of leading children’s church at a church in the south side of Bogota. We joined the church members in prayer for the elections (today was election day in Colombia) and in a sweet time of worship. After we all introduced ourselves, we left the main service and took the 35 children to a classroom. It was a close-knit time of teaching the children about Forgiving as Christ Forgave Us.After church, we were treated to a wonderful lunch. I had a traditional Colombian steak called Churrasco with French fries, fried Yuca, and a salad of corn, peas, and lettuce. It was all delicious!When we finished lunch we piled all nine of us, plus our host- Oscar, into a 7 passenger van and drove up the mountain to go sight-seeing. Once we got to a certain spot, we all ‘got down’ and got on a tram that went straight up the side of the mountain to a Catholic church that has a magnificent view of Bogota and the surrounding mountains. We had a great time getting pictures, looking at the awe-inspiring creation of our Lord, and just enjoying being together as a team.After only 4 days, this group is an extension of my family. I count it an honor to be able to serve our Heavenly Father with these amazing brothers and sisters in Christ.~ Kristin
