April 18 - David
Today was technically the last day for our team in South Asia. So how does one even attempt to wrap up such an amazing trip? Well, it started with a return visit to the orphanage we visited the first week. Somehow, they knew we were coming, so we were greeted by several of them running in as we drove up. We sang several songs, did a skit, and presented a guitar to them that we had bought a few weeks before. We also chose to do our team pictures out near the front of the orphanage. After we left, we spent the afternoon with our translators at Stars of Dawn (A local Christian college.) Lunch was donned: "The Burmese Thanksgiving" consisting of egg casserole, chicken, preserved duck eggs in a salad, small pieces of pork, Burmese fish paste and even homemade hash browns. We then said tearful goodbyes to our translators and went back to our rooms to pack up.We are so thankful for God's continued blessings and protection on this entire trip. Sometimes I often wonder how we're still one group and still alive after all that is happening around us. We know that there is no way we could have made any impact without the help of Christ interceding and fighting for us. And even though we were sad that we had to leave, we couldn't help feeling overjoyed for the impact Christ has made on us and on the people of South Asia.David
