Okay.....we have learned some really hilariously interesting things! For instance, it's really easy to confuse your father with your potato. Mi familia mi madre mi papa........the awkward moment you discover you just said you have a mother and a potato.It has been really fun to learn, and to finally understand what the people around you are saying! One thing that really struck me today was when several of us were walking around the city and found a Catholic Church open. This is one of the biggest, if not the largest church in San Cristobal. As we were walking around, at first we were amazed by the architecture and the paintings, but as we went farther we struck by how hopeless this religion is. As we passed statue after statue of Jesus suffering on the cross, finally climaxing with a full sized statue of His body in a glass coffin, we were all sobered as we realized how little hope these people have. Their God is not alive. I was filled with a passion to share the hope of the gospel with these people. Pray for us as we study Spanish! We have amazingly funny mistakes, we don't make sense speaking English!!(as our poem clearly states....yeah we wrote that brain fried tired and caffeinated!!!) But it's amazing!!!! Crazy life awesome God!!!! We really feel your prayers.
