For Such A Time As This || Day 19 - Monique

These past several days have been a whirlwind of Spanish, church events, and helping at the orphanage for the team. And at least for me, it feels even busier than usual! We have been very busy, but about our Father's business. As I have said before, and others as well, this team really is a family. There have been some very challenging moments for me on this trip, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. I know that a few other team members have been through challenging moments as well. However, I really saw these verses speaking about the body of Christ come to life:1 Corinthians 12:12"For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ."1 Corinthians 12:26" If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together. If one part rejoices, all members rejoice, and if one part mourns, all showed compassion, encouragement, and prayer support. This team cares for one another as siblings in Christ should, and items amazing. We are all imperfect, we are all humans, but the important thing is we are bonded together through Christ. He is our main focus, our first love, and our reason for even having been brought together and joined together into this team. We each have our stories, and many of us should not have made it on the trip, but God made the way for us to be here.Hebrews 12:1"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,"This verse, which has come up in devotions, definitely rings true for our team. I believe God has surrounded me with a great cloud of witnesses and it is such a blessing to be able to come up to any team member and share what I'm struggling with and have them pray for me. We all keep each other in prayer and I love our prayer request time when we lift up each other's requests. It can be so difficult to run with endurance at times, especially since sin is so easy to get tangled up in, but it's a blessing to be part of this GE family for such a time as this. For this time of studying Spanish in order to be better able to impact the lives of Spanish speakers for Christ's glory. We are here for a great purpose, sharing the Gospel with Spanish speakers. What a privilege and a joy to be able to do that here in Chiapas, with this team, in this town, for such a time as this. From hanging out with Spanish speakers at church to playing volleyball to going out to eat with three youth to waking around and sharing with those we meet, the Lord has used many different places and situations to bring Himself glory. Thank you for reading and more importantly for patterning with us in prayer. May God richly bless you!The view the morning run group had from above the clouds.
