[08.01 - Thursday] Outdoor Markets & More Painting
What a beautiful day God gave us to enjoy downtown San Cristobal. We started with team pictures, and then spent the rest of the morning walking through the market. There is something fun about interacting with the people that own the little booths and trying to get them to come down on their price, or give you a deal if you buy more then one of the same item. Even though you see booths with similar things over and over again as you walk through a maze of tarps propped up with sticks and polls, you cannot help but wonder and stare at their handiwork. Most everything that you come across is hand made and always a good deal. The goodness of the food here has not been in short supply. Eating out is always a welcome adventure. On this sunny day we went to a place called Salsa Verda that had amazing food that you got to see made right in front of you. Lunch was eaten and enjoyed by all, and after one last turn through the market and a taste of gelato we made our way home.Once we got back to the Terrells' there was work that wanted doing. The project of desks and chair rail trim was in need of more paint so several team members worked on that. It was that evening that every one learned that Katy, Katelynn, and Matt are very good at painting more then just desks, walls, and chair rail - they also do a great job of painting each other. The spirit they brought to the painting jobs was always a welcome one though. Joy was always close at hand when you were working with these three. Our time here is almost at an end and what a great time it has been. What a blessing to be lifted up in your prayers.- KatherineEditor's note: Team pictures are being saved for our very last blog post... just to build suspense! :-) In the meantime, enjoy these previews.
