Rest.
Marissa's blog post from the weekend is finally "live"!***************************************************There's something about those last few moments when you've crossed the threshold between frontier missions and then enter into that period of God-honoring, grace-filled place of rest. The photography team had already been toiling away in Quito for a week before I arrived. As soon as I landed there was nothing but stories of God moving in the lives of the photographers as they shared their gospel filled stories of redemption to several street children in the provinces of Quito.
I can't even begin to tell you how exhausted the team looked as I arrived that Friday, but I can tell you that there was a genuine sense of community and sweet fellowship that can only be found in Christ.
After a week of teaching in Quito, the team took a much needed sabbatical in the beautiful town of Otavalo. It was a time, not only of reflection of the ministry that had taken place in Quito but was also a time of complete rest, fellowship, and renewal. We took some time in our day to venture into the Otavalo market, a town most commonly known for its traditional, indigenous textiles.
On Sunday, we then began our 8 hour drive to Esmeraldas where we were warmly greeted by Pastor Luis.
This week is where the real test begins--we will be adapting to an entirely new schedule and humbly ask for your prayers. Pray for organization and open communication between translators and speakers. Pray for the hearts of the kids we will be in contact with. But most importantly pray that the the glory of God would be seen in the face of Jesus Christ to these people. As our final day of rest comes to a close, we are ready to follow the Lord in this new path that He has paved for us.Esmeraldas is His city, pray for us.MarissaPartner with us in Prayer: As we seek wisdom in how to come alongside the people of this city and be ministers of the Gospel.
