[07.20 - Saturday] Back from Tojolobal
San CristobalAfter an action packed jungle stint, we were grateful for the opportunity to catch up on sleep this morning. We started wading through the mountain of laundry before Julie took us to San Cristobal’s town square to experience local city life. It was great to enjoy an authentic Mexican restaurant brunch. We spent 1.5 hours touring the main market and the fruit market, improving our bartering and navigational skills. Our afternoon consisted of more laundry, airing out the bedding, re-washing the jungle dishes, sorting through the food, counting and re-packing meds, and planning for the upcoming week. Flexibility continues to be the name of the game, as our trip to Ch'ol has now been bumped to 07.24 - 07.28, which pushed us to get a lot of re-packing done early.Supper was again authentic, with a variety of tamales made by a local expert. Our evening team meeting re-focused us for week two, with a challenge to stay fixed on ministering by God’s strength for God’s glory. We know the Lord has new challenges and lessons yet in store for us, and we look forward to sharing in His work in new and exciting ways.Thank you so much for all your prayers! We appreciate them so much!!!Elisabeth U. & Elizabeth C.
