Sunday, February 20

Beginning this new week, we looked forward to one last week of school before our Final Exam: a week in the jungle with people who speak zero English. Rising at a more respectable time on Sunday morning, we prepared to go to church. While practicing a song that we had planned to sing in the service, Daniel received a phone call and informed the team that the service had started 45 minutes early and was already in progress. This is Mexico; don't ask why. We quickly finished practicing our song and rushed out the door. Cruising over the many topes (equivalent to American speed bumps on steroids) we soon arrived at the Iglesia Biblica Bautista church. All nine of us sang Con Que Pagaremos at the end of the service.Good news awaited us when we got in the car to find out that someone we had met at the park a few days ago wanted to meet up with us again and go to church with us! We are looking forward to spending more time with him this week. May the Lord continue to place opportunities before us. After lunch, we gathered back at the house we began preparing for the upcoming school week and trip to the jungle! Spanish immersion...here we come!David, for the team
