First chance to really use all the Spanish...
February 4, 2011Friday marked the completion of our first week of school, and we were as happy as any kids ever were to get outside again! After school, we traveled by combi bus (quite an experience!) to Teopisca, a small town a little ways from here. Pastor Carlos and his wife have opened their home and are currently caring for their own four children plus sixteen orphans. Watching this family, I see true ministry in action. They have made a huge commitment of time in raising, training and loving these children and who knows the impact this will have on their lives? This was also our first chance to really use all the Spanish we've been learning because they didn't speak any! It is exciting to see the difference that it makes in ministry to know the language! I love having the opportunity to practice Spanish and look more and more forward to the day when I can easily communicate in that language!
