Perspective [sunday]

102_4963-misol-ja-team-pic-2Hello Everyone! We are now two weeks into our trip and are headed back into the jungle today. God is SO good and we have been blessed above and beyond what I ever expected.Today, before heading out, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast at our hotel. We started out at Misol-Ja, an absolutely beautiful 80-foot tall waterfall! It’s truly amazing to stand in the presence of one of God’s magnificent creations and be able to feel, hear, see, smell, and touch its beauty. There was a walkway built behind the waterfall and it was awesome to walk behind it we all got completely drenched and the water felt SO GOOD! About halfway up there was a cave that some of the guys were able to tour. They said it was pretty cool and there was even a little waterfall inside it. Also a pretty good size group of us went swimming at the bottom of the falls. Before we left, we met all together for church. Chris read Psalm 90 and Psalm 39 and we sat around in a quite part of the parking lot and talked about them for about an hour. It’s so encouraging to sit around with a group of people and discuss the majesty and glory of God!img_1328-cuctielpa-boys-using-mac-touchpadWe arrived in the village, Cuctielpa, late afternoon/early evening and did a children’s program almost right away. Quite a few kids participated and quite a few parents came and watched. The people here have welcomed us with open arms. They are very friendly and love to help. When Stephanie* and Katie went to make dinner a couple of the ladies almost took over for them. As we drove I was thinking about how meager the living conditions are here and yet the people are so happy and content with the little that they have. They cook over fires and have only cold showers–if they have a shower–and they are content. When I think of everything I have back home, I feel as wealthy as a queen! We will be in the jungle until Thursday and will be staying in several different villages we are all looking forward to seeing what God will do over this next week of jungle work.Hannah –for the teamEditor's note - Stephanie is our newest team member, and we're glad to have her!  She's been here for six weeks helping Nathan and Julie, and was able to join us this week for the trek to Ch'ol.  Thanks for coming, Stephanie!Misol-Ja!Chris, Amy and Nathan Nathan and CloeWater filters crowdCuctielpa children fasinated by Choe's food
