It's a Race

We have been in Bogota almost a week and it seems like forever. I have seen God's hand of blessing and the love that He has for these people here and it is amazing.responseToday  we attended a school nearby and were able to share Gods principles to several grades of children through skits and stories. These skits and personal stories from our own lives is one of the ways we are communicating Christ here in Colombia. To act in skits or tell a story, then see the realization of the message on the faces of the children, brings great joy and a sense of reward for our efforts and investment in their lives. Our team was called to this country by God to invest spiritually in the lives of others and when God rewards us with seeing the fruit of our labors then it spurs us on to continue without fail and to remain committed in our hearts to Him!Micah’s TeamTonight we worked with the children of the parents attending the seminar on Biblical principles that is being held here in Bogota. I am working with a translator as I interact with the children and at times it can be tiring because of the language barrier I face. Sometimes I have wondered if they are understanding the message that I am trying to communicate. My fears were dispelled when a little boy explained to me through an interpreter that the most important thing that he had learned from the lessons that night was “if you break one of Gods laws you have broken all of them.” That was exactly what our message had been to the children for the evening! How great is our God. He does not promise that we will always see the results of our labor but when He gives us a glimpse of what He is doing in the hearts where only He can see, then it makes it all the more rewarding.I am reminded that when I am weak then He is strong through my weakness.  We are physically tired as a team but spiritually we are refreshed.  I remember the quote from Eric Liddell, “Where does the power come from, to see the race to its end? From within. Jesus said 'Behold the Kingdom of God is within you. If with all your hearts, you truly seek me, you shall ever surely find me.'" We have one week left here in Bogotahappy kid and I feel as though we are in a race to accomplish as much as we can before we leave. If we commit ourselves to the love of Christ then we will successfully finish the race that God has set before us here in Colombia. Pray for us! Pray that God will continue to renew our spirits and complete the work that He is doing not just through our team but through many believers committed to Him here in Bogota Colombia.Micah, for the teampreschoolOur first group of kids at the school were a bunch of the most adorable little kindergartners you have ever seen.teaching songsTeaching the gratefulness song to the kids.sad partThis is the sad part of the song.Rose’s TeamRose teaching her group of kids.courtroomSteven explained the importance of knowing the truth by being a judge in the "courtroom of the mind."Farmer BenMicah, as Farmer Ben, ready to use to demonstrate the Ten Commandments.kids listeningDaniel telling the Ten Commandments story with Micah as the egg holder.eggs
