Day of Praise || Bailey - July 15
Today was a travel day for us. Not only was it just short of a miracle that I was able to fit everything I needed for two weeks into my backpack, but we were able to fit all our gear, program supplies, water, instruments, etc. into the two vehicles. We then began our journey to the orphanage on the coast where we are going to be staying. We did a lot of praying before this trip because of all of the protests and blockades that have been taking place all over Chiapas. But, by the grace of God, we made it to the coast without any problems. Even the car ride down was a blessing, because, along the way, I felt as though the team bonded more than we have so far. The coast is a hot, sticky, sweaty mess, but the rooms we are sleeping in are air conditioned! We didn't have to take any emergency trips to get groceries, because our pizza lunch lasted us three meals. Our hosts where we are staying are super kind and welcoming, and aren't bad musicians either. Everyone got a great night of rest and was ready to go the next day.No, we weren't exactly working today, but that doesn't mean God took the day off too. He is constantly showing himself to us everyday. Sometimes he is easy to find, and some days you wonder if he decided to forget about his creation and leave it behind. But, if you look for him, you will see him in the smallest places. We had plenty to thank him for today, and I hope that we are able to give him the credit for it all. We should never take off days when it comes to glorifying the name of God, and I pray that when we feel him working in this world, we praise him for it.
