Sunday || Lizzie - August 09

Today was our first Sunday in Guatemala. It was another great day where God went before us, having prepared the hearts of each person with whom we talked and interacted. Church this morning was definitely very different from any church service I have ever participated in. Although  some attending were not deaf, the entire service, message, worship, everything was in sign language. It was astonishing to see the deaf worship, love and receive from God, no words, just actions. Teaching the Sunday school story and working together with the children on two craft projects was a blessing. God always does exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. It is a privilege to come along side and work together with the Summervilles who serve the Guatemalan Deaf Community.GUA2015_Day 5_Brittni Moten-1
Sunday evening ended hiking to a cross and an impromptu worship service.We just sat, praying, singing, contemplating on the Lord and His marvelous creation. Being surrounded by the Lord's creation just reminded me- that if this year has taught me anything, it's that I am small- I'm just a small puzzle piece in the bigger picture that God is creating. It humbles me and reminds that my success is not determined on how much I can show for it- it is determined on how much I love and stay faithful in the little things. And that's more than enough for me.GUA2015_Day 5_Brittni Moten-17GUA2015_Day 5_Brittni Moten-8
