Recovery Day || Yoni - August 08

It's day 4 here in Jutiapa, Guatemala and it's Saturday - the recovery day; although there was not much to recover from, since this past week was focusing on being still and sitting with the Guatemalan deaf kids during school hours. As I look back on this past week, God was teaching us what it meant to do nothing but just love on the kids by being 100% present and focused on them.Because this coming week we will need every ounce of energy as we take on a children's program with no translators, the verse I've been thinking of is, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9).I am grateful for the timing of this recovery day because I, and a couple of others in the group, am down with a cold. God always has impeccable timing. The team enjoyed some down time in the river and some much needed play and bonding time. The devotional time was a time of rejuvenation, encouragement, love, and prayer for each other. I am nervous, but excited for what God will do next week.
