A day at school || Ashleigh- August 06
Thursday after breakfast, Yoel and I went to get the children for school. As the kids started to pile in they all excitedly asked us our names and our sign names. I continuously messed up on my signing and the children would laugh but help me fix whatever I was messing up on. They were absolutely adorable. For the first half of the day I was with the younger children. They loved playing chef and building tall towers with small wooden blocks. Depending on the child they would laugh or pout when the tower fell. The children are very clingy and don't like sharing your attention. I was being pulled by a few children in different directions at more than one moment. The younger kids watched a short video and slide show reviewing and learning the different signs for things like animals or furniture. I was learning right along side them.Later that day, durning the evening group we were reviewing vocabulary with the older kids; things like té, leche, and café. We also went over the countries in Central America learning their signs and flags. After that was Math, something I considered skipping but ended up staying for and watching Gustavo teach. He is such an amazing teacher and very fun to watch and learn from. I am very thankful for the opportunity to come on this trip. I am thankful for the wonderful people who are on the trip with me and the beautiful people I have met on it. God has really softened my heart for these people and I have come to love them so much already!-Ashleigh
