April 16 - Elyssa

During the camp this week, I have been so blessed by our translators. It has been such a privilege to share stories with each other, pray for one another, and grow in the Lord together.
While teaching a lesson on the promise of God's provision in our lives, I felt the Holy Spirit leading me to share with the kids about how God provided the way for me to come to South Asia. I told them that if we are following the Lord's direction in our lives he will provide for our needs, sometimes in ways that we least expect it. After sharing my story, my translator, Seng, shared with me a story about God's provision in her life.
When she was a small child in Sunday School, she witnessed someone serving as a translator from English to Burmese. She prayed and asked the Lord to use her in that same way someday. Years passed, and she studied English and Korean in school. This week, she was supposed to be gone on holiday since school is out, but a friend invited her to come and help at our camp. This was her first opportunity to serve as a translator for a group of Americans, and she has done a marvelous job! She shared with me that she is so happy that God provided an answer to her prayers all these years later. I have been so blessed by Seng; by her willingness to serve others, by her skills as a translator, her spirit of grace and kindness, and her love for the Lord.
It will be hard to say goodbye to everyone, but it has been wonderful to see God's goodness and faithfulness to each of us. I am definitely excited about the possibility of returning next year!
