Mondays Highlights
Teaching the kids under the shade of the bus. This is our afternoon program where street kids walk down off the mountain to attend the program.
Mentoring the kids while they take pictures.I asked each of the Photographers to give me a picture that described the "highlight of their day" for Monday. These are some of the pictures that they gave to me. I have to say, they did a good job. Looking back on these three pictures, I feel like some of the best moments of our day are encapsulated. From times of prayer, adapting in challenging settings, and coaching the kids on photography; it was an incredible day that the Lord met us in every part and every moment.Arriving at the afternoon church was a little overwhelming; there were kids coming from everywhere and it took some adapting to figure out how to best corral the kids to a little sidewalk where we could teach. However, we felt the Lord's presence and provision through every part - from providing a blanket to hold over the computer screen to minimize sun glare, to giving the kids understanding and excitement, and giving the photographers creativity and adaptability. What an incredible opportunity! Using the point-and-shoot cameras makes the kids SO excited (cheers erupt when we tell them they get to!) and gives us a way to connect and invest, allowing us to gain credibility with them for presenting the Gospel.Partner with us in Prayer: Many of the "afternoon kids" walk several blocks to attend the program and do not have homes, water, etc. Pray that we would be able to show them love and present the Gospel clearly.Ashlyn
