Say What?

If you've ever been on a Global Encounters mission trip you know what it's like to sit in church and wish you could understand even half of what's being said around you. Finally that's coming true for us! We walked away from church this Sunday, after listening to a service with not one word of English, and compared notes on how much we had understood. For some, it was a way to collect new vocabulary words to look up at home, others in the advanced class were getting 70-80% of the sermon content. Yay!After church we enjoyed talking with people and were invited over to a family's house to practice our Spanish over dinner with them. We plan to take them up on the invitation! This afternoon we tackled one of the newly written large group stories and video taped the first ever presentation of "Bubblegum Treasure." If you're wondering how bubblegum relates to treasure and patience... well... you'll just have to come on a GE trip later this year and find out.Daniel on our pirate ship.Grace and Gabby helped us prep everything for the skit.Introducing "Captain Jack" the leader of the crazy crew in search of the Bubblegum Treasure. The CrewImpatiently looking for treasure.Nathan and Gabi taking in the show. The captain and crew opening treasure boxes. We went downtown for coffee Sunday evening.
